Installation

This section contains information on installing Power to Win to your computer. It is recomended that you check the section on System Requirements before installing this product.

If you have downloaded an installation from our server you will need to first unzip the files before your can proceed. Locate the installation file called "PTW9_Setup.zip". Right click over the file and select "Extract All" from the drop down menu and then extract the files to a folder.

Locate the folder containing the extracted files.
Right-click on Setup.exe and click Open.
Follow the directions to install Power to Win.
Do not change the default installation drive or path.

Migrating

With each release, some tools and technologies are replaced with better methods for achieving programming goals. As a result, setup files from earlier versions of Power to Win might need to be updated in order to load and function correctly with the current version.

Read the section on Compatibility Issues before running any applications if you are migrating from previous versions of Power to Win. It is also recommended to make a full backup of your Power to Win\Setup directory before installing version 9.0.

Performance Tips

Listed below are some ways to help improve the overall performance of this product on your computer.

Turn off virus checking on vsAnalysis.exe and vsEditor.exe.
Defragment your hard drive after installing the product.
Check the recommended RAM and processor requirements for this program, and consider upgrading your memory or disk speed.

For general installation issues, refer to the Getting Started guide included in the EFI Technology Professional and Enterprise editions of Power to Win.

Included in the installation are sample engine maps, setup files and logger data to help you familiarize yourself with the many features of Power to Win.
