Newly Formed Harris-Boone-Hayes Racing Brings C7 Corvette To PDRA Pro Nitrous in 2016
Hayes and his team built the car from scratch, in an honest to goodness 180 days of construction time. But he adds there were key factors including the delivery of a new Cynergy Composites body in three weeks through Tim McAmis Race Cars, and a shop full of parts waiting for placement.
For the last two days, Harris and Hayes have put the new car through its paces at the U.S. Street Nationals in Bradenton Motorsports Park, FL.
The car is running a nitrous-boosted, electronic fuel injected powerplant built by Billy Albert. Hayes added the car has the new EFI R8 electronic fuel injection unit from EFI Technology, the first of a new model developed by Graham Western.
"The car has shown a lot of promise," said Hayes. "We made two sixty-foot shots on it, one full run on Friday. We tried to make a full run early, but there were some issues with the track, so we lifted. It was certainly on the way to a high 3.70 run. We learned real early this car was going to be good. It will be fast."
