Jay Payne runs a 5.917 at 245.36 mph at the NHRA Nationals in Indianapolis in his 2013 Pro Mod Camaro.
Jay's Camaro is powered by the new Brad Anderson Supercharged engine that features fully sequential electronic fuel injection. A custom EFI Technology ECU drives the 16 manifold injectors and also controls the proprietary blower hat fuel delivery system.
The Ignition timing is also controlled by the ECU which fires an MSD Pro Mag. A new high performance multi-coil ignition system is also under development that will use an EFI Technology 8 Channel CD Ignition amplifier to drive the coils.
After only a few days of testing the new engine and electronics package has shown great potential. Jay's 5.917 run originally qualified him at the number 10 spot but was bumped on the final day of qualifying just missing a place in top 16 cars.
