Al Anabi Performance/Speedtech Camaro sets a new Pro Nitrous world record with a 3.668 at 203.61 mph at the Bahrain International Circuit.
It was round two of the Arabian Pro Series, which went down shortly before the Christmas holiday at Bahrain International Circuit. Mahana Al Naemi drove the Al Anabi Performance/Speedtech 1969 Camaro to the top qualifying spot in the Pro Modified category with a 3.668 at 203.61 mph. The mark sets the all-time quickest nitrous-enhanced Pro Mod performance, which just narrowly edged out his Al Anabi Performance teammate, Lizzy Musi, for that honor.
The second-generation driver had run 3.67 in the pairing before Al Naemi, only to watch from the top-end as he lowered the mark to 3.668. Though the Qatari didn’t win the event, his teammate Mustafa Al Atat took the class victory in the Al Anabi Performance supercharged Camaro while Musi claimed the runner-up honors.
Al Naemi competes in a Jerry Bickel Race Cars constructed 1969 Camaro that is powered by a Pat Musi 965ci powerplant. Not only was Pat Musi in Bahrain overseeing the operation, the team also relied on noted PDRA Pro Nitrous racer Tommy Franklin and Adam Lambert of Precision Racing Suspension. The eight-race Arabian Pro Series is off for a few weeks before round three begins January 12-13, 2017 at Bahrain International Circuit. The series then moves to the Qatar Race Club in Doha, Qatar for four rounds before heading back to Bahrain International Circuit for the finale.
The Fuel injection, Ignition and Nitrous systems are all controlled by the EFI Technology XTR ECU and new C1 Ignition System.
